Snoop Dogg opened the show by regaling the CinemaCon audience with some of his hits. His opening act pumped up the audience for the presentation that was to follow. Snoop was not just there for fun, he was there to promote his upcoming biopic about his life. It will be coming out later this year, starring Jonathan Daviss as Snoop.

After a montage of his most popular films, Christopher Nolan walked onto the stage and talked about his newest project, The Odyssey. “It’s not a story, it’s the story,” said Nolan. The classic story will be told in IMAX. A massive cast will take part in this epic telling of a father’s journey home. The glimpse that was presented, showed the scope of the film. The story will be immense in action and emotion. After seeing the extended scenes, it will be an epic movie-going event when it lands in theaters, July 17.

Jack Black was back again with his exuberant personality to introduce Chris Meledandri from Illumination. CinemaCon audiences were given two new looks at Minions and Monsters. The animated filmwill be set in the 1920s movie making world, but still holds to it core comedy. The movie will bring the same minion energy and laughs back to the screen on July 1. 

One Night Only by Will Gluck, will bring back romance to the theaters. Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner star in this modern romantic comedy August 7.

Jessica Chastain will star in Other Mommy. This horror film looks ready to terrify you and make you ask yourself who is real. The movie will be in theaters October 9.

Violent Night 2 with David Hopper will be in theaters December 4. The teaser shows uos that Hopper’s Santa must save Christmas and avoid being killed. Maybe he’ll need the help of his wife, played by Kristen Bell.

Focker In-Law was introduced by none other than its star, Ben Stiller. Joking about the long break between films, Stiller pointed out that in the latest movie, he is the parent who meets the new prospective in-law (Ariana Grande).  He was then joined onstage by Robert De Niro in a great comedic moment. The chemistry between these two was reflected in the shown scenes. The original group is back together again and looks to bring the same comedic energy when it arrives in theaters November 26.

Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility will be back with another adaptation of the classic. Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones as Elinor Dashwood. This will be out in October.

Werwulf, from Robert Eggers, will be a gothic horror film that tells the story of the classic monster that terrorizes the countryside. It will terrify audiences this Christmas.

Coleman Domingo welcomed Steven Spielberg to his first CinemaCon with a montage of his cinematic accomplishments. The audience responded to his entrance with a standing ovation. Before discussing his new film, Spielberg was awarded with the MPA American250 Award by the MPA. They acknowledged his positive additions to society through his motion pictures. After the brief interlude, went on to talk about his next film. Spielberg said his new film, Disclosure Day, was inspired by his interest in the sky and what lies beyond. He was also interested in what might happen when an alien and a human meet. “It (movie) will ask and answer your questions. It’s an experience and all you need to get from beginning to the end is a seatbelt,” said Spielberg when describing the film. Disclosure Day will be in theaters June 12.
