Amazon MGM Studios launched us right into their upcoming slate with a trailer that was out of this world. A few movies will be coming out this year, but the majority of their projects will hit theaters in 2026. Kicking off with an epic trailer for Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling, the studio made it clear: their pipeline is packed with spectacle, stars, and storytelling that spans everything from grounded thrillers to animated sheep-led mysteries.
Project Hail Mary
Ryan Gosling was on hand to give us more about the trailer that kicked off the studio presentation. Project Hail Mary, based on a book by Andy Weir, will tell the tale of a science teacher who is plucked from his ordinary life to help save the Earth and its dying sun. He is thrust into being an astronaut and flying into the unknown in order to save Earth. Gosling noted that, “My character goes on quite a journey,” and it looks like quite the journey. The visuals in the trailer had all of us entranced and drawn into the story. This lands in theaters March 26, 2026.
The Accountant 2
The Accountant 2, starring the returning actors Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal, will continue the story of our lone accountant nine years later. The movie will crank up the action and go deeper into Christian’s backstory. He will be joined by his brother to help him track down some very dangerous assassins. “It feels great to continue the story of the accountant,” said Affleck. I think we would all agree based on the trailer’s reception. Mark your calendars to see this in theaters on April 25.
After the Hunt
Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri were on hand to introduce the first footage for their next film, which also stars Julia Roberts, After the Hunt. The clips showed us a glimpse of the story and teased that this scandal might not be so cut and dry. In the film, an Ivy League professor’s (Roberts) life is turned upside down when a close colleague (Garfield) faces a scandal brought on by one of her students (Edibiri). The scandal threatens to bring out things from her own past and change all of their worlds forever. See this one in theaters on October 10, 2025.
Verity
Verity, another movie adaptation, will be in theaters in May of 2026. Colleen Hoover’s psychological thriller will star Josh Hartnett, Anne Hathaway, and Dakota Johnson. The stars gave us a pre-taped, sparse introduction to the unreleased trailer. But the trailer showed us this movie is nothing simple and is filled with twists and turns. Johnson plays a character who is hired to ghostwrite unfinished stories by a novelist (Hathaway), who has been injured in an accident. Things start to get strange, and mystery surrounds the characters and their pasts.
Mercy
Chris Pratt joined in on the ‘fun’ as he entered in strapped to a chair, to promote his upcoming film Mercy. Starring Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, the story takes us into the future where court appearances are very different. The AI Mercy program was designed to try and convict criminals, where each is given an amount of time and resources to prove their innocence while they are strapped to a chair. Pratt’s detective character has been accused of his wife’s murder and works to prove his innocence. This will be an interesting take on future AI. In theaters January 23, 2026.
Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie
Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie was up next. Introduced via videos from stars Emma Thompson and Hugh Jackman, the audience at CinemaCon didn’t know quite what to expect. The trailer showed clips that made it hard to distinguish exactly what type of film this was right away. This will be a live-action, animated mystery comedy thriller. The premise of the film is that a beloved shepherd is murdered and the sheep must work to solve the crime, venturing far beyond the meadows they know. The film will head us into theaterson February 20, 2026.
Crime:101
Enter Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry, not in any superhero costumes. They arrived to give CinemaCon attendees the only preview of the trailer for Crime:101. The action-packed movie will take us on a collision course with four characters: a jewel thief (Hemsworth), an insurance broker (Berry), a stick-up kid (Barry Keoghan), and a detective (Mark Ruffalo), all involved in crimes along the famed 101 freeway in California. Hemsworth said, “This film keeps you in suspense until the last possible second.” We will be filled with suspense until the movie hits theaters sometime this year or early next year.
Is God Is
Is God Is was introduced by stars Vivica A. Fox, Mallori Johnson, and Kara Young. Aleshea Harris’s play will be adapted for the big screen, starring the aforementioned stars among others, including Sterling K. Brown. The trailer included scenes where Fox’s character makes a dying wish for her daughters to seek revenge on their abusive father, who left them with disfiguring burn scars. The daughters head out on a journey to do just that, but find that life might take them in another direction.
Masters of the Universe
Masters of the Universe, the live-action remake of the cartoon, was introduced by the director, Travis Knight. According to Knight, this live-action fantasy film with Nick Galitzine as He-Man, “will be faithful to the cartoon, bringing He-Man to new audiences.” The footage that was shown included a muscled-up He-Man, along with his fellow cast, filming on set. This should be a must-see for fans of the original in June 2026.

Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, a film by Bassam Tariq, starring Mahershala Ali, was teased. Ali mentioned, “It will be an intense, fresh, and genuinely unique action film.”
And finally, James Bond and The Thomas Crown Affair were noted to be in production, coming to theaters sometime around 2026.
