Universal Pictures started off with a bang with musicians playing orchestral versions of their biggest cinematic hits. With an incredible mix of sequels, reboots, live-action adaptations, and original stories across all genres, the studio made it clear they’re aiming to dominate the box office—and your imagination.
From Scarlett Johansson leading a bold new chapter in Jurassic World: Rebirth to dragons taking flight in a heartfelt live-action How to Train Your Dragon, and from Blumhouse’s next batch of nightmare-fueled sequels to musical magic with Wicked: For Good, there’s something for every kind of moviegoer. Whether you love high-octane action, family adventures, sci-fi chills, or fairy tale finales, Universal’s 2025 slate is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in recent memory.
Jurassic World: Rebirth

Of course, one of those massive hits is Jurassic Park. The new film Jurassic World: Rebirth was introduced by one of its stars, Scarlett Johansson. The movie was filmed in the jungles of Thailand, adding a bit more to the production. The film will take us on a new adventure to an island where experimental dinosaurs roam. Johansson expressed her excitement about being in this franchise, mentioning all of the ‘pinch me’ moments, such as “hanging off a speedboat and repelling off a waterfall.” The movie looks like a hit and should be another box office score for the dinos. Jurassic World: Rebirth tramps into theaters July 2.

Gabby’s Dollhouse

Dreamworks also set us up for some new family-friendly pieces. September 26 will be the release of the movie version of Gabby’s Dollhouse, based on the Netflix series. The movie will take Gabby on an adventure to get her missing dollhouse back from a crazy cat lady played by Kristen Wiig. The film will utilize a mix of animation and live action elements and keep on par with the show.

Nobody 2

Nobody 2, the sequel to the first film of the same name starring Bob Odenkirk, Christopher Lloyd, Connie Neilson, and Sharon Stone, will bring us back to the action of the original. Blumhouse Productions

Blumhouse Productions has several horror sequels on the docket. Jason Blum introduced the group of films dressed as Freddy himself, even getting momentarily stuck in the head. Blum stated, “(It’s) The best year we’ve had at Bluhouse.”
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, December 5, will take you back to Freddy’s world where you will go even deeper and experience even more homicidal PG-13 animatronics.
