On a memorable Friday evening, fans at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado witnessed the sensational comeback of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to WWE’s SmackDown. The anticipation in the air was palpable after four years of absence. Finally, The Rock returns to WWE.
The atmosphere was already electric as Austin Theory, the ex-WWE United States Champion, was exchanging words with former NFL punter and current ESPN show host, Pat McAfee. But the energy reached its zenith when The Rock’s iconic tune, “Electrifying,” echoed throughout the arena.
The Rock Returns
With the audience’s uproarious cheers as his backdrop, The Rock confidently made his way to the ring for the first time since October 2019. As he stood face-to-face with Theory, the room echoed with chants of “Rocky, Rocky”. In a twist, when the two squared up, Theory cheekily cut off The Rock, quipping, “It doesn’t matter what The Rock says.” This left McAfee absolutely gobsmacked.

But The Rock, ever the master of the mic, responded, “Actually, what The Rock says does matter. Even more significant is what the people have to say.” He further invoked the name of his old friend, Stone Cold Steve Austin, saying, “If he were here right now, he’d ask: ‘If you want to see me beat this jabroni’s ass, give me a hell yeah!’”
The tension escalated as Theory aimed punches at The Rock. He attempted an Irish Whip maneuver, but The Rock was ready, delivering a spinebuster. The climax of the evening was The Rock’s signature “people’s elbow”. We even saw The Rock and John Cena together. Truly, an unforgettable spectacle.
