It’s finally official, Jade Cargill signs with WWE. Jade Cargill, a beacon of talent and charisma in the world of professional wrestling, has officially signed with WWE. This pivotal announcement was confirmed by WWE promotion officials in an exclusive interview with ESPN.
With a storied background in AEW, Cargill established herself as one of the most dominant figures. She set a commendable record by being AEW’s longest-reigning TBS champion. Fans and enthusiasts alike were taken by surprise as Cargill had made a notable appearance on AEW television just a fortnight ago. The latest development entails that she will commence her WWE journey this coming Tuesday at the renowned WWE Performance Center located in Orlando.
One of the burning questions among fans and pundits is whether Cargill will debut directly on the WWE main roster or will hone her skills further at WWE’s esteemed developmental brand, NXT. Given her past achievements and impact, the anticipation is palpable.

At the young age of 31, Cargill’s professional wrestling career spans only two years. Yet, her prowess defies her experience. She first stepped into the AEW ring in a widely publicized mixed tag-team match in March 2021. Cargill’s partnership with basketball titan Shaquille O’Neal against the formidable duo of Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet is still fresh in many minds. Cody Rhodes, one of the pioneering members of AEW and also Cargill’s mentor at the Nightmare Factory in Georgia, himself transitioned to WWE the previous year. His major role in AEW’s inception in 2019 and subsequent headline performance at WrestleMania 39 are of significant note.
Marking her place in the annals of AEW history, Cargill was not just any TBS champion; she was the first. She held the coveted title for an impressive 508 days, from Jan. 5, 2022, to May 28, 2023.
But wrestling isn’t Cargill’s only claim to fame. Hailing from Florida, this 5-foot-10 dynamo was a recognized fitness model before her wrestling adventures, amassing a staggering following of nearly 1 million on Instagram. Her athletic journey began even earlier as she played Division I basketball at Jacksonville University. Outside the ring, her personal life also garners attention. She is married to former MLB star, Brandon Phillips. The power couple co-owns the Women’s Professional Fastpitch (WPF) team, the Texas Smoke.
