For Halloween, Riverdale’s leading ladies, Camila Mendes, Lili Reinhart, and Madelaine Petsch teamed up yet again, unveiling a thrilling trio ensemble. The stars of Riverdale are auditioning as Batman villains this Halloween aka Riverdale Gotham City Sirens.
Their collaborative Instagram post served as the grand unveiling of their 2023 Halloween looks, paying homage to the renowned DC villainesses/anti-heroines. Each costume was inspired by timeless renditions of the characters. Reinhart donned Harley Quinn’s signature red-and-black jester attire; Mendes sported a Catwoman ensemble reminiscent of the ‘60s; and Petsch drew inspiration from Uma Thurman’s portrayal of Poison Ivy.

Cloaked in a form-fitting all-black ensemble, Mendes captured the very essence of stealth and allure that the character is known for. The outfit was paired with a glistening gold necklace, offering a subtle nod to the luxury and opulence Catwoman so often finds herself entwined with.
Although Mendes chose to forego Kitt’s classic mask, she made a contemporary statement with the addition of the signature cat ears, a staple of the Catwoman identity. Riverdale’s sweetheart, Lili Reinhart, took a delightful twist from her girl-next-door image to embody the mischievously iconic Harley Quinn. Drawing inspiration from the classic Batman Animated Series rendition, Reinhart showcased the character’s flamboyant style in a latex body suit, a captivating blend of red and black that effortlessly hugged her frame.
The ensemble, further enhanced by its bold cleavage, was both daring and true to Harley’s audacious nature. With this outfit, Reinhart didn’t just wear a costume; she became Gotham’s vivacious vixen, proving once again her versatility as an actress and her impeccable sense of style.
Is a Gotham City Sirens Movie in the Works
In 2021, James Gunn, co-president and Co-CEO of DC Studios, mentioned that he wasn’t actively developing a Gotham City Sirens film. While Gunn did acknowledge previous discussions with Harley Quinn’s actress, Margot Robbie, about collaborating again, he confirmed that the topic of GCS never came up. Recently, Karen Gillan, notable for her role as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy, showed interest in portraying Poison Ivy within Gunn’s DC Universe slate. Yet, as of now, Gunn’s intentions regarding this iconic Batman adversary in the DCU remain a mystery.
