Okay. Alright. You did it again Star Wars. On Monday, Disney+ kindly dropped the premiere date for their new show, The Acolyte created by Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), planned for June 4. Then they added a bit of flair with their teasing poster. This really seemed to get the Star Wars fandom all revved up, myself included. The poster included a play on the lightsaber blade and the coming evil that it might portray. “An age of light. A darkness rises.” It’s all too enticing!
I’ve been looking forward to this series for quite some time. When it was originally announced, I was ecstatic. I enjoy the High Republic books that have created a background world for all of our other Star Wars stories.
The Acolyte Trailer Reaction on Disney+
The trailer continued to capture my attention. The fighting already looks outstanding. I love the samurai like fighting styles that are very similar to the Ahsoka series. Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, and Carrie-Anne Moss (and their stunt doubles) are eye catching in this trailer. Carrie-Anne Moss and that look, then a force push, come on! I’m loving that some of the balance in the force has now shifted and there is darkness seeping in. What will they do? How will they deal with the coming changes to their lives?
I can’t wait to see the journey that these Jedi and padawans are going to take us on, especially in the double episode drop on the 4th.
