Taylor Swift’s much-awaited Eras Tour is making its debut in Mexico City this week, promising not only musical enchantment but also a significant economic boost. According to projections from Mexico City’s Chamber of Commerce, Services, and Tourism (Canaco), Swift’s first-ever performances in Mexico, spanning from August 24-27, are forecasted to rake in over 1 billion pesos, roughly equivalent to $59.1 million USD. The events are anticipated to attract a crowd exceeding 180,000 attendees.
Canaco estimates reveal that Foro Sol, the venue hosting the concert, is set to receive a staggering 981 million pesos ($16.6 million USD) in earnings. Additional businesses in the city are also slated to benefit, expecting to generate around 12.6 million pesos ($744,000 USD) in revenue. The tourism sector is projected to bring in 8 million pesos ($472,000 USD), while the hotel and food and beverage industries expect to earn 5.5 million pesos ($325,000 USD) and 4.7 million pesos ($278,000 USD) respectively.

Mexico is among only three Latin American nations to host Swift’s Eras Tour, which is likely to attract a wave of international fans to the region. The Mexico City Hotel Association has stated that hotels in close proximity to Foro Sol are anticipating an occupancy rate of 66% to 70%, providing a timely lift during what is generally considered a slow month.
Taylor Swift Mexico Concert – Eras World Tour

“The Taylor Swift concerts are a welcome economic catalyst, particularly as we were seeing a seasonal dip in hotel occupancy rates this August,” stated Alberto Albarrán Leyva, the head of the Mexico City Hotel Association, in an interview with the Milenio newspaper. The ripple effect of the concerts is also felt across sectors beyond tourism, enriching the broader business landscape of Mexico City.
