As Hollywood prepares to honor the best achievements in cinema at the upcoming Oscars, the 2024 Razzie Nominations are shining a spotlight on the year’s cinematic letdowns. Leading the pack in Razzie nominations is the fourth installment of Sylvester Stallone’s franchise, The Expendables, with a total of seven nominations. Stallone is nominated for worst supporting actor, while co-star Megan Fox is in the running for worst supporting actress.

Other contenders for Razzie “honors” include The Exorcist: Believer and Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, both securing five nominations each. The unconventional Winnie the Pooh slasher film, taking advantage of the expiration of AA Milne’s classic tale copyright, reimagines the Hundred Acre Wood characters as vicious serial killers. It has earned nods for worst picture, worst screenplay, worst rip-off, and even worst on-screen couple for Pooh and Piglet.
The exorcism theme continues with Russell Crowe earning a nomination in the worst actor category for his portrayal of Father Gabriele Amorth in The Pope’s Exorcist, a film centered on a priest who performed over 100,000 exorcisms.

Often dubbed the “ugly cousin to the Oscars,” the Razzies will announce their winners a day before the Oscars in March. The nominations are determined by over 1,000 Golden Raspberry Foundation members worldwide, covering nine categories, including worst director, worst screenplay, and worst prequel/remake/rip-off/sequel—categories that Stallone’s Expend4bles has found itself nominated in.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny also appear on the worst sequel list. Starring Harrison Ford in his final outing as the iconic archaeologist adventurer, the film faced box office disappointment and mixed reviews.
Vin Diesel finds himself in the running for worst actor for the tenth installment of the Fast and Furious series, while Shazam! Fury of the Gods accrues four nominations, including one for Dame Helen Mirren as worst actress.

The list of Razzie contenders also includes Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania, with four nominations, and four actors with double nods—Megan Fox, Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, and Salma Hayek. Ana de Armas is nominated for worst actress and worst screen couple alongside Chris Evans for their collaboration in the critically panned Ghosted.
Hayek and Channing Tatum also find themselves in the running for worst screen couple for Magic Mike’s Last Dance. Fox, on the other hand, is the sole actor nominated for two different films—Worst Actress for Johnny & Clyde and Worst Supporting Actress for Expend4bles. Stallone adds another feather to his cap with his 16th nomination for worst actor, showcasing an enduring presence in the Razzie Hall of “dis-honor.”
