The X-Men rumor mill is spinning at full tilt recently, and the latest name in the mix is a genuinely exciting one. Word on the street is that Odessa A’zion, the breakout talent from Marty Supreme, is being considered by Marvel Studios to play Rogue in its long-awaited X-Men reboot. Let’s be crystal clear right up top: this is a rumor, nothing more. Marvel hasn’t confirmed a thing, and no deals are anywhere near the table.
The chatter reportedly originated with industry insider James Mack before being corroborated by scoop-master Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic podcast. If you’ve followed Marvel’s casting saga at all, you know that “being eyed for” is Hollywood shorthand for “someone in a room said her name out loud,” so temper those expectations accordingly.

Still, it’s a tantalizing bit of casting on paper. A’zion earned a wave of acclaim (and awards buzz) opposite Timothée Chalamet in Marty Supreme, and she’s got genre credits to spare from the Hellraiser revival to Until Dawn. Those big, curly locks already scream Rogue, and fans have been quick to point out she looks the part before she’s even read a page of script.
She’s far from the only name floating around Jake Schreier’s youth-forward reboot. We recently reported that Obsession star Inde Navarrette met with Schreier himself, sending speculation into overdrive about which mutant she might suit (Mystique, Magik, and Rogue are fan favorites). Beyond that duo, the casting gossip has swept up a who’s-who of buzzy young stars, including Mason Thames, Noah Schnapp, and even Sydney Sweeney, the latter reportedly linked to Emma Frost.
None of it is official, of course. Marvel is guarding this reboot like Fort Knox, with a reported 2028 release still years out and the script (from Beef scribes Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo) still taking shape. So treat every name here as pure speculation for now. It would be the biggest role of her career, and one heck of a glow-up from indie darling to X-Men headliner.
