Elizabeth Olsen isn’t ready to hang up her Scarlet Witch cape just yet. The actress, who has spent over a decade bringing Wanda Maximoff to life in the Avengers: Age of Ultron and beyond, has made it clear she would gladly step back into the chaos magic. Speaking with InStyle, Olsen said, “I’d jump at the opportunity,” when asked if she’d play Scarlet Witch again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Elizabeth Olsen explained why the role continues to be special. “Making the films are fun. Goofy. It’s ridiculous. We’re grown people like children on a playground. We’re flying. We’re shooting things out of our hands,” she said.
“And it’s a character that I’ve gotten to return to so many times after over 10 years. It’s good to put her down, and then I miss her and I want her back.”

For Olsen, the joy of working on these massive superhero films goes beyond the spectacle. She reflected on the scale and sense of community on set, noting, “It’s the consistency of a community and a job, which is hard to find. The insane camera movement, stunt work, and special effects, visual effects that are happening in real time. It’s a lot of coordination, it’s hundreds and hundreds of people on set, and it’s a powerful thing to be a part of all those people working towards one goal.”
She continued, “The people doing the visual effects are artists. The soul, the spirit, the heart is fulfilled doing it. It does mean something. I care about the acting being great—everyone does.”
Olsen’s comments have fans buzzing, especially since Scarlet Witch remains one of the most beloved characters in the MCU. After unforgettable turns in projects like WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, audiences have been hoping for her return.

But Elizabeth Olsen is also making her values clear when it comes to her future in Hollywood. She revealed that she will only star in studio films with guaranteed theatrical releases. “I don’t want to make something where [streaming is] the end-all,” she said. “If a movie is made independently and only sells to a streamer, then fine. But I don’t want to make something where [streaming is] the end-all. I think it’s important for people to gather as a community, to see other humans, and be together in a space. That’s why I like sports. I think it’s really powerful for people to come together for something that they’re excited about. We don’t even audition in person anymore.”
For an actress who has become a fan favorite, Olsen’s words resonate. Whether she’s championing theatrical experiences or teasing a Scarlet Witch comeback, she continues to hold a special place in the MCU and in the hearts of audiences worldwide.
