Elizabeth Olsen is ready to embrace the chaos once again. The WandaVision star, who brought emotional depth and raw power to Wanda Maximoff across multiple Avengers films and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, says she’s open to returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even amid the growing conversation around superhero fatigue.
Elizabeth Olsen Says She’d Love to Reprise Scarlet Witch in Future Marvel Projects

In a new interview with People Magazine, Olsen reflected on her time playing the Scarlet Witch and hinted that her journey with Marvel might not be over. “I think the thing that’s been so special about the last five years is I’ve gotten to do so much with the character that I never thought I would,” Olsen said. “There are still character through lines that have happened in the comics that I’d love to do, that I think fans also want to.”
When asked whether she would return to the MCU, Olsen didn’t hesitate. “It is something that I love, and it’s something I always want to return to,” she shared. “These movies aren’t for critics. These movies are for fans.”

For years, there’s been speculation about Olsen’s feelings toward her Marvel tenure, particularly after she revealed she didn’t initially know Wanda would turn into a villain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. “Three weeks before I was sent to London, they said, ‘You’re our lead villain!’ And I had no clue,” she previously admitted. But judging by her latest comments, it seems Olsen’s affection for the Scarlet Witch, and her fans, is very much alive.
With Marvel setting the stage for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, fans have been theorizing about how Wanda Maximoff might make her grand return. Given her reality-warping abilities and complex moral arc, a redemption storyline feels almost inevitable. Wanda remains one of the MCU’s most powerful characters, and one of its most beloved.

Meanwhile, Marvel continues to expand her world through Disney+ spinoffs like Agatha All Along, which debuted one of Wanda’s sons, and the upcoming Vision Quest (working title), rumored to feature her other son, Speed. Together, these shows appear to be quietly building toward a major Scarlet Witch comeback.
If Olsen does return, it would mark one of the most anticipated character resurrections in the MCU. And judging by fan enthusiasm online, the Marvel multiverse might not be done with its most enchanting witch just yet.
