Yvonne Strahovski, our beloved powerhouse from The Handmaid’s Tale, is gearing up to take us on a thrilling ride in Peacock’s new horror series, Teacup. With horror icon James Wan waving his magic wand as executive producer, this series is already sending shivers down our spines, and we’re here for it!
Teacup isn’t just any horror flick; it’s a bone-chilling series inspired by Robert McCammon’s hair-raising novel Stinger from the late ’80s. But here’s the twist – we’re swapping the desolate deserts of Texas for the eerie backwoods of rural Georgia. Yvonne Strahovski will step into the shoes of Maggie Chenoweth, leading a group of townsfolk against a cryptic menace that’s got us biting our nails in anticipation.
Yvonne Strahovski Teacup with James Wan for Peacock

The green light for Teacup came through in the nick of time, courtesy of Universal Studio Group’s UCP and Wan’s own Atomic Monster. The brains behind this adaptation, Ian McCulloch (known for Yellowstone), is penning down the scares, while E.L. Katz, the genius from The Haunting of Bly Manor, is set to direct the pilot, ensuring that our nightmares have a touch of class.
The dream team doesn’t end there. Alongside Wan, the executive production squad includes Atomic Monster’s Michael Clear and Rob Hackett, Katz himself, the original novel’s author McCammon, Francisca X. Hu, and Kevin Tancharoen, making this one star-studded horror fest.
While we’re all on the edge of our seats for Teacup, let’s not forget Yvonne Strahovski is still gracing our screens as Serena Joy Waterford in The Handmaid’s Tale. With the final season’s shoot kicking off this summer, as spilled by Elisabeth Moss on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, it’s clear Strahovski is in for a busy year. Having bagged two Emmy nods for her spellbinding performance and wowed us with hits like The Tomorrow War and 24: Live Another Day, Strahovski is all set to become our favorite scream queen with Teacup. Stay tuned, and keep the lights on, because this is one horror adventure you won’t want to miss!
