Looks like Tom Holland has found a new web-slinging co-star, and she’s no stranger to big franchises. Sources confirm to Deadline that Stranger Things breakout Sadie Sink is officially joining Sony and Marvel Studios’ next Spider-Man installment. While Marvel and Sony are staying tight-lipped on the casting, this marks the first major addition to the film’s ensemble as production gears up to begin later this year.
The yet-untitled sequel to Spider-Man: No Way Home will once again star Holland as Peter Parker, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton taking the reins. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and longtime franchise producer Amy Pascal are back to oversee the film, which will continue the story left off in No Way Home—where Parker, after an emotional and reality-bending adventure, made the heartbreaking choice to erase his identity from the world.
Who Is Sadie Sink Playing?

That’s the big question. The internet is already buzzing with theories, with many speculating that Sink could be stepping into the role of X-Men icon Jean Grey, signaling Marvel’s deeper integration of mutants into the MCU. But there’s also another possibility: a certain redheaded love interest from Spider-Man lore. Could she be the franchise’s new Mary Jane Watson or even Felicia Hardy, a.k.a. Black Cat? No official details have been revealed, but given No Way Home’s ending, it’s likely that new faces will take center stage as Peter navigates his fresh start.

For Sink, this is a major career move as she transitions from Hawkins to the MCU. The actress recently wrapped filming on the highly anticipated final season of Stranger Things, which is set to debut later this year. Since her breakout as Max Mayfield in season 2, Sink has become a fan-favorite, stealing scenes in Stranger Things’ fourth season.
With Stranger Things coming to an end and her big-screen resume growing (The Whale, Fear Street), joining Spider-Man is a natural next step. Whether she’s playing Jean Grey, MJ, or another Marvel favorite, one thing’s for sure—Sink is about to swing into a whole new level of stardom.
