Sadie Sink just made the BAFTAs red carpet her personal runway, and honey, she came to play. The Stranger Things actress glided into London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday night wearing a mint green satin Prada gown that somehow managed to be both breathtakingly elegant and structurally audacious all at once.
At first glance, the look reads as classic old Hollywood: a structured strapless bodice, a sweeping full skirt with delicate pleats along each side, the kind of silhouette that would make Grace Kelly nod in quiet approval. But then you catch the back, and the sides, and your jaw drops just a little, because there is essentially nothing there. The dress is completely backless and entirely sideless, kept in place by nothing more than a slender mint green ribbon tied daintily across the chest. One tiny bow standing between Sadie Sink and chaos. Iconic.
Sadie Sink’s Sideless, Backless Prada Gown Was One Tiny Ribbon Away From a Wardrobe Moment

The fact that it stayed put all evening is either a miracle of Prada engineering or a testament to Sink’s impeccable poise. Probably both.
Sink accessorized the look with a bold silver pendant necklace and sparkling diamond stud earrings by Bulgari, letting the jewelry add just enough edge to keep things from veering too precious. Her newly debuted wispy bangs swept effortlessly across her forehead while the rest of her hair tumbled down her back in soft, romantic waves. The whole look felt at once undone and completely intentional, which is arguably the hardest thing to pull off on a red carpet of this caliber.

She was accompanied by Saltburn and The Undoing actor Noah Jupe, and the two made a genuinely stunning pair. The duo are set to share the stage in Robert Icke’s highly anticipated West End production of Romeo and Juliet, debuting this March, so clearly the chemistry is already very much there.
And while we have Sink’s full attention: those swirling rumors about her stepping into the role of Jean Grey in the MCU need to be confirmed immediately. Because if this BAFTAs look tells us anything, it’s that Sadie Sink was born to command a room, with or without a safety net.
