Nikki Glaser is heading home—and taking her comedy with her. After the record-breaking success of her HBO special Someday You’ll Die, the comedian has signed a deal to bring her next hour to Hulu. The special will be taped later this month at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in her hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, making the milestone all the more personal.
Nikki Glaser will once again team with Emmy-winning director Hamish Hamilton, who also helmed Someday You’ll Die. She is executive producing the project alongside Hamilton, Done + Dusted’s David Jammy and Chris Convy, as well as Alex Murray. The finished special will premiere on Hulu in 2026 and stream internationally on Disney+, signaling Hulu’s growing push into the competitive stand-up comedy space long dominated by Netflix.
Nikki Glaser Brings Her Record-Breaking Comedy Back Home to St. Louis
The choice to lock down Glaser marks a big win for Hulu. Her last special wasn’t just a hit—it shattered records. Someday You’ll Die became the most-watched HBO comedy special debut in more than two years and set the all-time streaming audience high for HBO Max, now Max. It also turned Glaser into a major awards contender. She earned Emmy, Grammy, Golden Globe, and Critics Choice nominations, while ultimately winning the WGA Award for Comedy/Variety Special.
But 2024 proved to be Glaser’s true breakout year. Already a seasoned stand-up veteran with two decades onstage, she grabbed headlines as one of the standout performers during Netflix’s The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. Soon after, she released Someday You’ll Die and kept building momentum, culminating in her historic gig as the first solo female host of the Golden Globes in 2025. The night was such a success that she was immediately invited back for the 2026 ceremony. In recognition of her banner year, The New York Times crowned her Comedian of the Year for 2024, and Time included her on its list of the Most Influential People of 2025.
Currently, Glaser is wrapping her Alive and Unwell tour, which has taken her across the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Beyond the new Hulu special, she is set to appear in a Paramount comedy inspired by the classic game MASH, which she is also co-writing and producing. For a comedian who has steadily climbed the ranks for years, 2026 looks like the moment Glaser cements her place at the very top of the stand-up world.
