Move over, multiverse — there may be a new Gwen Stacy waiting in the wings.
In a recent interview on our podcast Spotlight with Kat Siggers, actress and singer Meg Donnelly opened up about her superhero dreams, revealing that she’d love to play Gwen Stacy, specifically the Spider-Gwen version, in a live-action adaptation. “It would be so cool to be like Spider-Gwen from the Spider-Verse if they ever do a live-action of that,” Donnelly shared. “I love doing stunts. It would be really cool.”
Meg Donnelly shares her superhero dream and why Spider-Gwen could be her perfect fit

Considering her range across both screen and stage — from her leading role as Addison in Disney’s Zombies franchise to voicing Supergirl in DC’s Justice League animated films — Donnelly already has one foot in the superhero world. And honestly? She might be the perfect choice for a live-action Spider-Gwen.
For starters, Donnelly brings the right mix of energy, athleticism, and emotional depth to the table. Spider-Gwen, also known as Ghost-Spider, isn’t just about web-slinging across skylines — she’s a layered, resilient character grappling with loss, guilt, and identity. Donnelly’s recent EP dying art showcases her emotional honesty and vulnerability, qualities that translate beautifully into character-driven storytelling. And let’s not forget her dance and stunt experience from Zombies, which gives her a leg up (and probably a perfect backflip) when it comes to the physical demands of the role.

With her naturally blonde hair, expressive eyes, and charismatic screen presence, Donnelly even bears a striking resemblance to the comic book version of Gwen Stacy. But what sets her apart is her proven ability to appeal to both younger audiences and genre fans alike — an essential combo in today’s comic-book adaptation landscape.
While no official word has come down about a live-action Spider-Verse film just yet, casting speculation continues to swirl. And if Sony or Marvel is looking for a star who can embody Gwen Stacy’s balance of heart and heroism, Meg Donnelly is ready — and fans are already imagining her in the hood.
Until then, you can catch Donnelly in Zombies 4 this July and stream her new music, including the vulnerable and genre-blending dying art, on all major platforms.
