A new casting report for Man of Tomorrow has ignited one of the biggest waves of DCU speculation in months. DC Studios is officially searching for a tall, physically imposing actress in her late twenties to play a mysterious new hero in the upcoming Superman sequel. Early descriptions call her a warrior with a strong physique and an unmistakable edge, which has fans loudly wondering if the long-awaited DCU incarnation of Wonder Woman is about to enter the spotlight.
Man of Tomorrow Has A Mysterious Warrior Role, DC Fans Think One Thing: Wonder Woman

Sources speaking to Nexus Point News say the studio is looking for someone with both presence and power. The height requirement alone has fueled theories, especially since very few DC heroines demand a towering, athletic silhouette. While the role could potentially belong to Big Barda, Black Canary, or Starfire, the warrior’s coded description lines up most directly with Princess Diana of Themyscira. Wonder Woman remains one of the most requested characters for James Gunn’s rebooted universe, and many viewers have hoped she would be introduced sooner rather than later.
If the character is indeed Wonder Woman, this appearance could also serve as a strategic lead-in to her upcoming solo film, which is currently being written by Supergirl screenwriter Ana Nogueira. James Gunn has confirmed that the project is being fast-tracked, and the planned prequel series Paradise Lost is in development as well. The franchise has a growing need for its cornerstone characters, and Wonder Woman has long been one of the pillars that define the world of DC storytelling.
Created by William Moulton Marston and H. G. Peter, Wonder Woman debuted in All Star Comics No. 8 in 1941. Over the decades, she has been portrayed by Cathy Lee Crosby, Lynda Carter, Adrianne Palicki, and Gal Gadot, each actor bringing a unique interpretation to the legendary superhero. A new take arriving within the DCU would mark a fresh chapter for the character and potentially reshape the tone of the universe.

Man of Tomorrow will be written, directed, and produced by James Gunn, with DC Studios co CEO and chairman Peter Safran producing alongside him. David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult are returning as Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, continuing their rivalry that may evolve into an uneasy alliance. Rumors also point to appearances from Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and John Cena as Peacemaker. Isabela Merced even hinted at her return as Hawkgirl through a recent Instagram post captioned “See you soon.”
Production begins this April in Atlanta, with filming slated to continue through the summer. The first DCU feature, Superman, premiered in 2025 and introduced audiences to the franchise’s new roster, including Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and more. The film earned $616 million globally and helped launch DC Studios’ revamped cinematic era.
DC’s Man of Tomorrow is scheduled to hit theaters on July 9, 2027, and if the latest speculation proves true, it could mark the arrival of one of the most iconic superheroes in comic book history.
