Leave it to Jessica Biel to make head-to-toe denim look like couture. The actress swept into San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 25, and instantly became one of the best-dressed stars of the weekend, proving that the humble Canadian tuxedo can absolutely hold its own against a hall full of capes and cosplay.
Jessica Biel went all in on double denim, styling a sleeveless, collared denim waistcoat over relaxed, wide-leg jeans in a beautifully faded light wash. The vest was the showstopper: sharply tailored through the front with a row of gleaming silver buttons, then cut away at the sides to reveal a strappy, crisscrossing cutout that bared her waist and toned midriff. Those little denim straps wrapping around her back turned a classic separate into something architectural and unexpected. She kept the trousers slouchy and oversized, pooling slightly at the ankle over a pair of nude pointed-toe pumps that elongated the whole silhouette and kept the outfit from tipping into too-casual territory.
Double Denim, Double Take: Jessica Biel Stunning on the Comic-Con Carpet

Her glam was pure California cool. Biel wore her sun-kissed, honey-highlighted hair in loose, tousled waves, with fresh, dewy makeup, a soft flush, and delicate silver hoops as her only jewelry. Fit physique, glowing, and clearly having a blast, she looked every bit the runway-ready star as she flashed that megawatt smile for the cameras.
So what brought her out? A big one. Biel was at Comic-Con to promote Matchbox: The Movie, the Apple TV action-comedy inspired by Mattel’s iconic die-cast cars, marking her first feature film in nearly nine years (her last was 2017’s Shock and Awe). Directed by Sam Hargrave, the globe-trotting adventure stars John Cena as an undercover CIA agent who drags his childhood pals into an international chase, with a stacked ensemble that includes Teyonah Parris, Sam Richardson, Arturo Castro, and Danai Gurira.

Biel told People that returning to the big screen had to feel right. “Getting back into the film industry has been something that I’ve been really excited about doing,” she said, adding, “I have little kids, you know, there’s a lot of elements that go into a decision, for me at least. I just was inspired by this cast, was inspired by these cars and the nostalgia.”

Matchbox: The Movie revs onto Apple TV on October 9, 2026. If Biel’s Comic-Con debut is any indication, she’s making her big-screen comeback in serious style.
