The continuation of Paul Atreides’ saga, portrayed by Timothée Chalamet, is now slated for a March 15 release. Warner Bros. confirmed this decision on Thursday, following earlier indications by industry sources of such a potential move. Dune: Part Two, co-produced by Warner Bros. Film Group and Legendary Entertainment, saw both entities concurring on the rescheduled date of March 15, 2024.

Consequently, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which was set to premiere on March 15, will now launch on April 12. This film, another collaboration between Legendary and Warner Bros., marks the newest chapter in the Monsterverse series.
The decision to postpone Dune arises amidst prolonged strikes by WGA and SAG-AFTRA. The strike by SAG-AFTRA implies that actors are restricted from press activities for any films affected by the strike. This would have prevented the high-profile cast of Dune from participating in promotional events.
Dune 2 Delayed Release Date

However, there is an anticipation that this scheduling alteration will not significantly affect IMAX’s upcoming lineup, which features movies like The Equalizer 3, Wonka, and The Marvels (provided they remain as scheduled). Both Warner Bros. and Legendary are optimistic that the forthcoming spring break and Easter celebrations will offer a favorable window for both movies to thrive.
Joining Chalamet in Dune: Part Two are stars such as Zendaya, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux, and several others.
