She’s back! Jennifer Garner is all set to reappear as Elektra in the much-awaited Deadpool 3. According to The Hollywood Reporter, this news doesn’t come as a surprise considering Garner’s previous collaboration with Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy in The Adam Project, hinting that this comeback might have been planned for a while.
Garner initially embodied the anti-hero assassin character in 2003’s Daredevil, featuring Ben Affleck in the role of Matt Murdock. Subsequently, she landed a leading role in the standalone Elektra movie in 2005. Though Daredevil managed to secure moderate box office success, Elektra barely managed to break even. Nonetheless, Garner’s powerful and action-packed performance was highly appreciated by critics.

Despite Marvel’s past decisions to let William Hurt, Tim Roth, and Tim Blake Nelson revisit their roles from the pre-MCU Hulk film in the MCU, there’s a likelihood that Deadpool 3 might explore the multiverse concept. This assumption arises from the fact that the Marvel Cinematic Universe already boasts an Elektra of its own – portrayed by Elodie Yung in the Netflix series Daredevil.

Shawn Levy, the director of the movie, will helm the script penned by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Deadpool 2). The film is poised to break new ground as the first R-rated movie in the MCU.
Joining the ensemble are Emma Corrin from The Crown and Matthew Macfayden from HBO’s Succession in undisclosed roles, alongside Rob Delaney, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kitsuna, Taylor Swift, and Karan Soni who are reprising their roles. Also, Hugh Jackman is stepping out of his Wolverine retirement to give Deadpool a hard time – a spectacle we eagerly anticipate.
