The Boys is without a doubt one of the best shows on TV right now, thanks to showrunner Eric Kripke’s brilliance. The superhero satire has garnered much interest over a 4 season run and counting but as we wait for the rest of season 4 leading into the 5th and final season, let’s talk about one of the show’s best aspects; The Women of The Boys.

Because what are The Boys without some of the most kick-ass, beautiful, and downright powerful ladies leading the charge? So, without further ado, here are the Women of The Boys.

Firecracker – The Women of The Boys

Let’s get the fireworks going coz first up is the show’s newest social media personality and superhero, Firecracker. Played brilliantly by Valorie Curry, she most certainly lives up to the name as she’s an incredibly hot firecracker of a woman with a striking red and blue outfit to boot. Packing a Glock-17 by her side, she’s a wild card if ever there was one.

Her abilities include generating sparks by snapping her fingers together, though she also has a few other tricks up her sleeve. She’s also pretty resilient and tough as she has super strength. However, that’s not without its limits as Butcher was able to get the upper hand of her in a fight by knocking her out cold.

Firecracker was created specifically for the show and she fits right in this universe with ease. That she’s the newest ‘hot it girl’ on the scene is no accident either. She uses her sex appeal and attractive and fit physique as a weapon to further entice fans of her show so she can feed them her propaganda full of conspiracy theories led against her arch rival, Starlight. As a kid, she went by the name “Sparkler” she’s held a grudge over Starlight ever since she called her fat and accused her of sleeping with the judges to get there. Since this all happened at a young age, it’s obvious this rage drives Firecracker to a large extent and is the reason why she’s so hyper focused on our beloved Annie January for vengeance.

Perhaps her true power is spreading her propaganda and influence online via her podcast “Truth Bomb”. Either ways, she’s proving to be quite an interesting character on the show so far.

Sister Sage – The Women of The Boys

Another new character on the scene is Susan Heyward’s Sister Sage. While not much is known of her past, she was part of the Teenage Six along with A-Train.

Sister Sage is perhaps the most important character this season, as she has proven herself invaluable to Homelander thanks to her superpower; her sheer intelligence and intellect. Sage is the smartest person in the entire world, something that has undoubtedly taken a toll on her mental health as when a worried Homelander visits her, he sees her all alone in her apartment surrounded by books and junk food, something he remarks before he offers her to be a part of the Seven.

Sage’s intelligence is one of those abilities audiences might not think is exciting due to its lack of flashy VFX but there is a method to the madness here as she’s always 10 steps ahead of the competition. Sister Sage might be part of the Seven but her true goal is to help Homelander find purpose in his life. By causing systematic chaos in a strategic manner, Sister Sage plans to create a demand for Homelander to swoop in and save the day.

But it seems that she might have some plans of her own as she also seems to manipulate The Deep into standing up for himself against Ashley Barrett. Is she the one true person Homelander can trust or is she working her way to the top and playing all sides? Time will tell.

Victoria Neuman – The Women of The Boys

Now then, this one’s a rather explosive choice on the list, isn’t it? Introduced back in Season 2 of the show, Claudia Doumit’s Victoria Neuman is still every bit terrifying, every bit beautiful on the show. 4 season in plus her appearance on spin-off Gen V, and Doumit’s performance still has the elegance, the class and the absolute intensity required of her to perform such a deadly role. Frankly not including her on a Women of The Boys article like this would surely make fans’ heads explode.

Neuman’s story is an interesting one, as is her place on the show. Originally born as Victoria Nadia Khayat, she was adopted by Vought CEO Stan Edgar after killing her own parents.

A seemingly well-meaning and strong congresswoman, Neuman has been so successful in her deception of the public. She puts on a front to hate Vought and has a strong desire to bring down Superheroes but in reality, she is every bit as cunning, manipulative, and deadly as her adopted father. She was working closely with Hugh Campbell at the Federal Bureau of Superhuman Affairs where her team’s role was to regulate supe activity but Hughie is in for one mind-blowing shock when he finds out Neuman’s a supe herself. As is her daughter Nadia.

Neuman has the deadly ability to control blood much like Gen V protagonist Marie Moreau. Neuman’s abilities are considered to be rare as she thought before meeting Moreau that she was the only one who could do this. Neuman was the one who boosted Moreau, supporting her from the shadows to give her the opportunity to attend Godolkin University. As of right now, she is also in possession of the supe virus, a deadly contagion designed to eliminate superheroes.

Victoria Neuman’s main motivation is survival, which led her to go against Stan Edgar and side with Homelander, removing her father from Vought. In return, Homelander took out a key political party member to further advance Neuman’s career. Now a running mate to Robert Singer himself, Homelander wants her to endorse superheroes by giving them a seat at the table.

Aside from being a powerhouse, Neuman’s been well-appreciated by fans for her striking beauty. She’s one of the most gorgeous women on the show and to cop a phrase, her face card does not decline. Regardless of what direction the show goes in now, it’ll be interesting to see what Victoria does next. Hmm..is anyone else getting a headache?

Kimiko – The Women of The Boys

Kimiko Miyashiro The Boys

Kimiko Miyashiro, known simply as “The Female,” is both a fan favorite and one of the most compelling characters of the series. Played by Karen Fukuhara, Kimiko’s mute nature belies her ferocity and combat prowess. Her history as a victim of human trafficking who was experimented on with Compound V gives her a tragic and powerful backstory. This season finds her on the hunt for The Shining Light, who wronged her and so many others in the past.

Kimiko’s powers include superhuman strength and regenerative healing, making her a formidable fighter and the ‘tank’ of the group. Her unpredictability and intense loyalty to her friends, particularly Frenchie make her quite the wild card on the show too. Despite her brutal fighting style, there is an inherent attractiveness to Kimiko, stemming from her vulnerability and the silent strength she exudes. After all, she does rock a good jeans and jacket combo but she can totally pull off a more serene look as shown in season 3 where she adorns herself in a very hot sequins dress. Her journey is one of survival and reclaiming her identity, making her one of the most empathetic yet dangerous characters on the show.

Starlight – The Women of The Boys

And last but most certainly not the least is everyone’s favorite heroine, Starlight. Just a small town girl with big dreams, Annie January, played by Erin Moriarty always wanted to be a superhero. She wanted to help people and actually get into this business to look out for the little guy. Annie has superhuman strength, durability, and the power to emit blinding light. Knowing she has a bright future ahead of her, her parents, particularly her mother who was vicariously living through Annie, pushed her to get into this line of work so she could work her way up the ladder and join The Seven.

Once she arrived though she quickly learned the phrase “don’t meet your heroes” is indeed true. The team isn’t the beacon of justice she imagined. Instead, it’s a cesspool of secrets, scandals, and moral ambiguity. Annie grapples with the disillusionment of meeting her heroes—fallible, corrupt, and far from godly.

Starlight also is genuinely one of the best characters on the show, it’s obvious Erin Moriarty put in the work to look her best self, like a true superhero with the sleek physique of one.

Through 3 seasons of pain, backstabbing, lying, and fearing for her life as a member of The Seven, Starlight quits and openly opposes Homelander, which in turn creates “The Starlighters”, a group of fans rallying together against Homelander’s open fascism and upholding the values Annie brings to the table in the fight against Homelander and Vought. As of right now, Annie felt she couldn’t become Starlight again as it represented all the horrible memories and ideologies she left behind, but when the time came to rally The Starlighters, she took on the moniker again, being the beacon of hope she was meant to be in these harsh times.

The Boys is a fascinating show sporting many a compelling character, some of them good, most of them bad, and others morally ambiguous, but it’s no small feat that a show this bombastic has managed to feature such a wide variety of female characters that are every bit as compelling and a true joy to watch on screen. Who is your favorite female character on The Boys?
