Emma Watson does not do public appearances often, so when she does, she makes them count. On Monday, the 36-year-old turned up at a landmark business forum for The Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife in London looking effortlessly polished in a colorblocked Jacquemus design that put her squarely in the fashion conversation.
The look, called La Robe Pisello from the French luxury house, was a study in contrasts. Up top, a fitted black bodice with a flattering scoop neckline and short sleeves hugged her frame and showed off her toned, runway-ready figure, falling just below the waistline. At the drop waist, the dress transformed entirely, switching from sleek black into a flouncy white cotton poplin skirt with a ruffled top layer, intricate floral cutouts, and a tidy midi hemline. The piece bears a striking resemblance to look number nine from Jacquemus’s spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection, which founder Simon Porte Jacquemus debuted in June 2025 during Paris Fashion Week.
Emma Watson’s Black bodice, white ruffles, and one very rare red-carpet-adjacent moment

Watson finished the look simply and beautifully: an antique pearl necklace anchored by a gold heart pendant, soft tousled waves, and barely-there glam that let her natural features do the talking. It is the kind of understated styling that explains why she landed on Nerdspin’s list of The 10 Most Beautiful Female Actors of All Time.
The appearance was a notably rare one. Watson, who rose to fame as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films and went on to star in Beauty and the Beast and Little Women, has largely stepped back from acting, with no film role since 2019. These days she is pursuing a doctorate at the University of Oxford and channeling her energy into activism, which is exactly what brought her to the stage alongside Prince William and Oscar-nominated actor Benedict Cumberbatch for the forum kicking off London’s 2026 Climate Action Week.

Onstage, Watson kept it characteristically sharp, noting that the fashion industry creates more emissions than aviation, ranking as the second most polluting industry after oil. She also charmed the crowd with a funny story from her “Harry Potter” days, when she was convinced her privacy had been invaded only to discover it was all a harmless mix-up. Naturally, she was laughing by the end of the night, and so was everyone watching.
Rare sighting, real message, and a dress that did exactly what it needed to. Welcome back, Emma.
