Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World is set for a theatrical release on February 14, 2025. In preparation, the studio has enlisted Matthew Orton to write additional scenes. This extra material is slated for shooting in the spring and summer of 2024. Orton, known for his role as a consulting producer on Marvel’s Disney+ series Moon Knight, joins a project that continues the journey of Sam Wilson, portrayed by Anthony Mackie, as he assumes the mantle of Captain America following Chris Evans‘ portrayal of Steve Rogers.

The film, directed by Julius Onah, builds upon scripts by Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman. It features a star-studded cast including Liv Tyler, Harrison Ford, Shira Haas, Tim Blake Nelson, Rosa Salazar, Danny Ramirez, Seth Rollins, and Carl Lumbly.

Reshoots are a standard part of Marvel’s filmmaking process, emphasizing their commitment to quality. These additional shooting days can range from a few days to over two weeks.
The Captain America series has been a significant success for Marvel, beginning with Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011 and continuing through Winter Soldier in 2014 and Civil War in 2016. Collectively, these films have grossed over $2.23 billion worldwide.
